Capri Griffith-Gonzalez

Founder & CEO

LMFT/Supervisor

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Supervisor candidate. I decided to open this practice in 2018 with Joanna Hedin to provide a positive therapeutic experience for clients in the Summerville and surrounding area.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families to address issues and develop solutions.  I encourage clients to actively participate in treatment.  I believe each person is unique and deserving of understanding and compassion.

I have experience in working with Substance Abuse disorders, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and adjustment disorders.  I have a long history of working with Veterans and their unique issues.  In being a veteran myself I have great insight on how to overcome challenges with returning home.

I believe every day is a new opportunity to start again in a positive way.  Change is positive.

Clinical Lead

LPC

The process of beginning therapy and finding a therapist that is the right fit can feel overwhelming. It is difficult but empowering to ask for help. While making the first step is the hardest, working together we can identify issues and create solutions.

Anxiety, worry and panic can take over your life and struggling with these issues can be exhausting, but you find ways to keep going. I have over 18 years of experience as a counselor. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been trained and find value and results in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Trauma - Focused CBT, all which are evidence based treatment. I have also been trained in Parent - Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), used with children ages 3-8.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, ages 7 and up. My work has included providing therapeutic services to address anxiety, depression, sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, parenting, marital conflicts, self-injurious behaviors, life transitions after divorce, high school students going to college and adjustments to new life situations.

Demi Henschel

LPC-A

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) and am working to obtain my certification as a Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC). Life can present its challenges at times, and I am here to tell you that you do not have to go through it alone.

Each person is on a unique path of life and sometimes we may feel stuck and unsure of the next steps. I value a collaborative relationship where you and I can take those next steps together to accomplish your goals, and move towards positive change and optimal functioning.

My specialties include but are not limited to: sport performance, anxiety, depression, stress management/adjustment, grief and loss, self-concept, school issues, anger management, and interpersonal relationships.

It is my goal to provide a safe, genuine, non-judgmental, and empowering space throughout the counseling process. Together, we will work to improve overall wellbeing and discover strengths and abilities to overcome different obstacles in life. It would be such a pleasure to be on this journey with you!

Katie Bonanno

LMFT-A

I believe that each person’s path is different and unique. No matter what the journey may look like, there are always things to learn about yourself along the way.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and am working towards full licensure. My background gives me a systemic approach meaning we look at your background, how you grew up, your family, environment, and what influenced you along the way to make you uniquely you! This approach is useful for couples and family dynamics because it takes into account that we all have a part to play in whatever relationships we are in.

My past experiences have been with at risk children and teens, couples, and families, however my favorite clients are my couples. I enjoy helping couples learn how to communicate, problem solve, be vulnerable with each other, and ultimately reconnect in ways they might not have thought possible. My specialties are couples issues, relationship issues, stress management, self-esteem, communication, and anxiety.

My goal is to help my clients feel heard, seen, and understood. In a world that is fast paced, I believe that everyone deserves the experience of slowing down and feeling understood at a core level.

Lauren Hammes

LPC-A

For the past two years, I have worked with adults and teens in recovery from substance use disorder. This also provided me experience with other struggles such as anxiety and depression.

My approach is holistic and mindfulness-based. My background in Creative Arts Therapy allows for there to be creativity in the therapeutic space as well. I’m all about peeling away the layers and getting to know what “self” feels the most authentic.

I look forward to to helping you taking the first steps towards healing. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”- Lao Tzu

Brienne Rogers

LPC-A

One of the best things about being a therapist is the opportunity to empower you, to make you feel strong and heard, and to give you the tools to excel. I want you to feel welcomed and open to communicating feelings and emotions. I strive to provide you comfort and safety and be the listening ear you need.

My job is not to judge you or let preconceived notions or beliefs hinder progression, but rather uplift you and set a positive foundation for a healthy therapeutic relationship. Together, we will use therapeutic styles to rework negative thinking and explore emotions and feelings. I work with a wide variety of ages, from young children, adolescents, and into adulthood. I have specialized experience in working with mood disorders, as well as with adolescent behavioral issues (such as conduct disorders). With children, I utilize specific play therapy techniques to allow children to communicate the best way they know how... through PLAY!

I never want you to leave sessions feeling alone. I understand you, I hear you, and I'm here for you! The hardest part is done, you found me! Contact me to schedule an appointment, come on in, and let's do this together.
